Biography
Dr. H.Jerry Qi, Associate Professor at University of Colorado at Boulder, visited the Center for Smart Materials and Structures (CSMS) and gave a talk about Multiphysical Behaviors of Shape Memory Polymers.He earned a PH.D. degree at Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 2003, an M.S.in engineering mechanics at Tsinghua University. He held the Mechanical Engineering Chairs Faculty Fellow from 2008 to 2011 and won the National Science Foundation Career Award in 2007.
The general focus area of Dr. Jerry Qis group is Mechanics of Materials, with special attention given to Soft Materials. The material systems of his interest include Shape Memory Polymers, Environmental Responsive Hydrogels, Human Arterial Tissues, and Cells.
